Here Are the Best Laser Treatments Based on Your Age

Best Laser Treatments Based on Your Age by Siti Med Spa San Diego

Healthy, youthful-looking skin is possible at any age.  But some of us need a little extra help to achieve the radiance we desire. Laser technology has advanced dramatically in recent decades, providing us with an abundance of minimally invasive options for getting gorgeous, glowing skin.

While not everyone has the same skin concerns at the same age, there are some common concerns that tend to show up around the same time for many of us. Take a look below at some of the best laser treatments for your age and skin issues.

In your 20s - Limelight IPL Photofacial

Taking good care of your skin at an early age is the best way to ensure that it stays as beautiful and radiant as possible for decades to come. The most common skin concerns for individuals in their 20s include acne scars, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation. The Limelight IPL Photofacial uses high energy light waves to penetrate deep into the skin to target brown spots and areas of redness, resulting in clearer, more radiant skin. The treatment is effective for improving large pores, hyperpigmentation, mild acne scars, freckles and skin redness.

In your 30s - Laser Genesis

Even if you don’t feel any older in your 30s, the aging process is already beginning to affect the skin.  Hormonal changes and slower cell turnover can suddenly result in skin problems that you didn’t have at a younger age, including adult acne, dull appearance, and visible lines and wrinkles. The Laser Genesis treatment works by delivering thousands of micropulses of light to the lower layers of skin. The heat of these micropulses shrinks blood vessels, breaks down scar tissue, and stimulates the production of new collagen. It also kills acne-causing bacteria. Laser Genesis is a great solution for treating acne, acne scars, rough skin texture, and fine lines and wrinkles.

In your 40s - 2D Laser Facial

In our 40s, those hormonal changes that began in our 30s combine with a decrease in elastin and collagen production, which accelerates signs of aging and results in a loss of volume and elasticity. But the surface issues that began in earlier decades don’t just magically go away on their own, so many of us begin to experience a broader range of skin problems than ever before. The good news is that some laser treatments can be combined for safe and effective age-defying results. The 2D Laser Facial combines Limelight Photofacial and Laser Genesis to take years off your appearance in a single treatment. As mentioned above, the Limelight addresses surface skin concerns such as rosacea, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and enlarged pores. The Laser Genesis goes deeper to stimulate collagen production, resulting in firmer, smoother, more evenly textured skin.

In your 50s and beyond - Total FX fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing

If you’re just getting started with laser treatments after several decades of sun damage and exposure to environmental toxins, you may want to start with Total FX fractional skin resurfacing treatment, which is a one-stop shop for a brighter, smoother, and tighter complexion. Similar to the 2D Laser facial, the Total FX treatment involves a combination of two laser treatments: the Active FX and Deep FX. These procedures are done with the same UltraPulse CO2 laser, but at different settings to treat different layers of the skin. Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing uses laser pulses to heat tiny columns of tissue, creating microthermal treatment zones that can correct a range of conditions. Active FX uses a larger beam to treat the upper layer of skin to improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles, tone, and texture. Deep FX uses a more narrow beam to penetrate deep into the skin to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen for results that continue to improve over time.

You are unique. Your cosmetic treatment plan should be, too.

Although there are some general categories of skin concerns common at different ages, the best cosmetic treatments are never one-size-fits-all. If the practitioners at your medical spa or cosmetic clinic don’t take the time to examine your skin, listen to your concerns, and lay out a range of options for your treatment plan, then you may not get the results you’re looking for. At Siti Med Spa in San Diego, we know skin, and we know how to customize individual treatment plans for various skin types, skin concerns, skin sensitivities, and personal preferences.  You don’t need to know exactly which treatment is best for you before you come see us—that’s what we’re here for. We’ll work with you to determine the best course of treatment for achieving your beauty goals.
