Patient Post Siti Signature Peel
Take home kit contains the following:
· SkinMedica Facial Cleanser
· SkinMedica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream
· SkinMedica SPF 30+
Day 1
Leave the peel on at least 8 hours. Mild irritation can occur such as redness, tightness, and mild itchiness.
Wash face with SkinMedica Facial Cleanser, do not apply any other products during this time, and avoid touching the face.
DO NOT:
· Go Swimming or participate in activities that cause excessive perspiration for 5-7 days
· Expose Skin to direct sunlight and excessive heat while you are peeling
· DO NOT FORCE EXFOLIATION AT ANY TIME!
· Use any other product for 7 days
If you experience discomfort, apply ice and take Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Itchy skin may use Hydrocortisone
Do:
· Allow Skin to exfoliate on its own or you may cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
· Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night or two to decrease potential swelling
· Use SkinMedica SPF 30 if going outdoors
Day 2
On day two, follow the instructions given by your provider.
Wash the face with SkinMedica Facial Cleanser and water in the morning and at night. Pat dry thoroughly.
You may use the SkinMedica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream (only use a small amount if your skin feels extremely dry or is peeling).
Use of SkinMedica SPF 30 if going outdoors is always recommended.
Day 3
On day three use the included SkinMedica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream and SkinMedica
SPF 30+. Once your skin has started to peel apply SkinMedica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream at least twice a day. It is also very important to use the SkinMedica SPF 30 if outdoors. You should begin to peel on the third day, but you may start sooner or be delayed by a day. The peeling is accurately described as a sloughing of the skin. When washing treated areas morning or night, old skin will slough off. Wash and pat dry. Do not scrub or pull at the skin. Refrain from picking at the skin so redness, irritation and hyper pigmentation does not occur.
Day 4, 5, 6
In most cases the actual peeling process should be completed within this time frame. One day variation to the total process is frequently noted. Continue careful use of the cream and sunscreen.
Day 7 and beyond
Usually at this point you should be able to start your regular daily skin care regimen if you are not still peeling. You should immediately start using the Lytera Skin Brightening System or other skin care regimen as recommended by our staff for optimal results. Without the proper use of home care products, results of the peel will diminish and hyperpigmentation may reoccur.
